During the month of October, the under 16 Sportgarten Bremen hockey team visited Durban to compete and experience Durban through the Durban - Bremen partnership.

Through the assistance of the Durban-Bremen partnership, Sportsgarten was able to take part in a range of school coaching clinics and intercultural exchange opportunities.  The group got to experience the Inanda Ntuzuma KwaMashu area first hand with a range of tourism activities and stays with local accommodation partners such as Ezwini Lodge.

Special thanks- Go! Durban academy for allowing us to use the facility in kwaMashu and communicating with local organization (Dlala’nathi and schools) to take part in the Indigenous Games. Seeing the German hockey team witness the spirit of Ubuntu was amazing. Experiencing the rhythm on the sports field of skipping rope and exchange of culture on a higher level. We had Germans Speaking Zulu and South African’s speaking Germans. The site manager was accommodating at all times, he was a true ambassador of DGC - going the extra mile even after having a family emergency he was still visible on site assist all the adventure gamers.

Their stay was ended off with a safari experience in Hluhluwe Game Reserve with the Ink and Sportsgarten teams, here they got to learn more about each other’s cultures and the wildlife as a whole. As Green Corridors were grateful to part of such a wonderful initiative by the Sister city partnership!
