The eNanda Dam area is a firm favorite among our mountain biking community. In previous years we had a 55km route which circumnavigated eNanda Dam, starting and ending at eNanda Adventures. Demand for this extremely popular route has been enormous.
The area in red in the map above is the proposed trail route, which will interlink a ride around the dam with the trails heading towards Durban.
In previous years, we lost our funding which paid for trail teams from the Maphepetheni area to clear and maintain these trails. Our current funding only allows for maintenance of trails from eNanda Dam, south towards Durban.
This approach also ensures the community on the western and northern ends of the dam see real value from the mountain biking community and become partners in the sport we all love so much.R 0.00 RaisedR 100000.00 Goal0.00% Donated1 Donor254 Days Left
Intercepting ocean-bound plastics from eThekwini rivers, estuaries and waterways to create environmental and social benefit.
Support our labour-intensive project that captures plastic waste before it gets to the ocean! Just R100 can prevent 10 rubbish bags of harmful plastic waste from poisoning marine and terrestrial environments. Or contact us if your organisation wishes to partner with us on this high-impact project.
Our project model supports unemployed and disadvantaged waste entrepreneurs to collect post-consumer plastic packaging from streams and water courses and facilitates onward selling to the recycling value chain. Collections and removal of plastic waste is also supported by a network of litter booms and litter traps that we have placed at strategic locations along some of Durban’s waterways.R 0.00 RaisedR 250000.00 Goal0.00% Donated1 Donor287 Days Left
Our environmental education programs bring together nature play and learning at various parks with programs which are deliberately designed to foster exploration, encouraging children to get outdoors and enjoy the benefits of healthy living and learning about nature.
By sponsoring towards a rural school to have an active environmental education program at one of our many destinations, you're helping us work towards our belief that nothing beats direct experience. Having a conversation with a school group from just 20km's outside of Durban about plastic pollution on our beaches when many of these children have never been to the beach is a futile undertaking.
Our environmental education programs for rural schools is focused on curriculum aligned outcomes with a focus on direct, memorable experiences with follow up interventions and resource support for the schools. Our core need for funding is specifically around funding to pay for transport for the children as well as educational resources for groups we interact with.R 0.00 RaisedR 0.00 Goal0% Donated0 Donors407 Days Left
